I'm Adam - welcome to my portfolio

Since being introduced to GIS on my masters, at the university of Uppsala, Sweden, I have been fascinated by the potential of using GIS to address some of our society’s most urgent issues relating to sustainability.

It was therefore only natural, that I based my thesis on a GIS model analysing potential land use conflict in Denmark, and addressed the increasing need for a holistic approach to land use planning if Denmark is to meet the goals ratified in the Paris agreement, the Biodiversity Convention and the European Water Framework directive.

This has been the foundation I’ve worked on ever since. Building on that knowledge of GIS, I’ve put it to use solving these and related issues. Overall, I’ve specialised in using geospatial data to support the decision making processes needed in order to achieve the green transition. Minimising economic losses, and maximising ecosystem services, is one of the ways in which GIS can prove pivotal in meeting societal demand for transitioning to a more sustainable steady state, and I believe that this approach has only yet shown a fraction of its full potential.

Thus, I invite you to have a look at six projects where I have been the primary GIS engine, and that I think show a glimpse of the potential I have described here.

Enjoy!
